We've moved!
Hello everyone!
I am sorry that I have not updated this in a long time, but these have been a couple of important months!
We graduated! Thomas and I both graduated from Ouachita, I graduated magna cum laude with a 3.9 gpa and a B.S.E. degree in Early Childhood Education (certified p-4), and Thomas graduated cum laude with a 3.5 gpa and a B.S. degree in Physics. Thomas' parents and grandparents were able to attend (and they brought Jace), so that was neat for us.
We moved! Thomas' parents helped us move up to Bentonville, and into our new home. We are finally getting settled. We love the house.
Thomas started his position at University of Arkansas. He will be doing research this summer, then starting his teaching assistantship in the Fall when he begins his doctorate program in Physics. Hopefully, in four years he'll have his PhD!
I haven't gotten a job yet. School only ended a couple of weeks ago, so I am hoping to get some interviews soon. I am getting somewhat anxious, having not heard anything. We aren't bringing in enough money, so I applied for a waitressing position last week, but I haven't heard anything from that either. I'm enjoying spending the days home with Jace, but I will need something nights and weekends through the summer. We have looked at daycares in the area, but I don't want to make any decisions until I have a better idea about where I will be teaching.
Jace is doing well. The difference in his language since we have taken him off of his breathing treatments has been miraculous. I don't know another word to describe it. Just in the last couple of months he has learned to engage in dialogue, put words together to make phrases, he knows his colors, shapes, alphabet, etc. He says new things everyday. I still sometimes break down in tears when I hear him say something new. We have also started potty training. Many of the daycare facilities require potty training by 3, so we're trying. This is actually going much better than I ever expected. He has gone whole days without having an accident, he LOVES going in public bathrooms (strange, but very convienient - I think he likes the more powerful flushing), and he does fine with underpants. He still uses pull-ups at nap and night, and he hasn't yet had a bm on the potty (he waits till naptime when I put a pull-up on him and goes then), but he's done well considering we only started a couple of weeks ago.
My mom visited for 10 days, and we had a lot of fun. We did some cool things, like go to a drive-thru wild wilderness safari (with an awesome petting zoo, complete with kangaroos, lemurs, and baby tigers that you could pet). I will include some pictures of that.
My birthday is going to be coming up on the 27th (I'll be 23), followed by Jace turning 3 on July 8th! Since Jace loves to play outside more than just about anything, we are going to try to get him some outside toys for our new yard!! If you want to contribute to his outside toy fund as his birthday gift, that would be great, just let me know!
