Wow...
It's been a while... sorry! I guess life hasn't been too terribly exciting, so I haven't had much to write about. We are doing fine.
Thomas is re-thinking the whole grad school thing. He's not loving it and it's not working out too well for him, so he is considering a few different options. He's thinking about changing his major to something a little more engineering-geared. He has also applied for a couple of jobs with a couple of major companies. Raytheon and Lockheed Martin which are both major technological corporations (they make planes and missiles and such) had interview days at his school. He went, and felt like they went really well. They were just basically screening/placement type interviews, but we are hoping to be hearing from some specific locations soon about potential jobs that he might be qualified for with just his Bachelor's in Physics. We have no idea where they would be, or even when - we may be moving somewhere as soon as Decemeber!! This is exciting, yet somewhat overwhelming at the same time. To say that we are not loving our current situation is a vast understatement, so the possiblity of beginning something very new and different is as welcomed as it is nervewracking.
I am still working at the daycare, and I still hate my job. I did quit Colton's, however, which has made life harder financially, but SO much easier in every other aspect - I was incredibly close to losing my sanity. If we end up staying here (if Thomas does not get a job beginning in December) I will put a lot of effort into finding another job. In the meantime, however, I don't have many options.
Jace is doing well. He is talking more and more everyday. He is finally using three word phrases and putting words together. He started his speech and cognitive therapies for the first time today. I think they went pretty well. I want desperately to stay home with him - the more time I spend with other people's children, the more I miss the time that I am not getting to spend with my own. He does like his school though, and I know the social interaction is good for him. He is going to be Thomas the Tank Engine for Halloween. He had never seen Thomas the Tank Engine (we don't have tv), but it was a train, and he loves trains - it was the only costume that he wanted - all of the others he flatly refused. I think Halloween is going to be fun this year, I will post pictures and details soon!
Our lives are kind of up in the air right now - if anything happens, I will post.
